International Day of Yoga in Khartoum


Yoga has connected the entire world just as it connects body, mind, intellect and soul. United Nations General Assembly declared 21st June as International Day for Yoga. Embassy of India in Khartoum organized International Yoga Day on Saturday 17 June at Corinthia Hotel. Ambassador of India Amrit Lugun welcomed all the participants and thanked them for turning up in spite of Ramadan. He said that the Yoga Day was being held on a week end since 21 June falls on a week day. He encouraged all to practice Yoga and spread the benefits of Yoga to all. Mrs. Daniela Viracqua, wife of the Brazilian Ambassador, is a practitioner and teacher of Yoga in Khartoum. She said that Yoga brings inner peace and healthy body. She added that if one has inner peace, one can spread peace to others and the world will be a better place to live in. Indian Yoga couple Mrs. Herambi Chandra and Dr.Shaswath Chandra demonstrated the Yoga protocol as prescribed by the Government of India.
